Each piece in the Keith Brymer Jones Word Range features a hand-stamped word or phrase. So it has been carefully pressed into the super white porcelain creating subtle differences between every single piece. From espresso cups to large mugs to snack bowls, there are now over 400 products in the Word Range collection. Therefore, make sure you have enough room in your kitchen cupboards!

Keith Brymer Jones started as an apprentice at Harefield Pottery aged 18. His first job was to unload clay from two filter presses. He then pursued his own career hand-making ceramics from his London studio for retailers. For example: Conran, Heals, Habitat, Marks and Spencer, Ted Baker, Laura Ashley, Monsoon, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys New York and Anthropologie.

The first creation in the Word Range was the bucket mug. The shape of Keith’s trusty old water bucket that he used when throwing on his potter’s wheel was what inspired the shape. The shape of the mug still remains unchanged after 25 years. Who knew?

The design stage of each new product and the perfect prototype starts on Keith’s potter’s wheel in his UK studio. The full production then takes place in China. Unquestionably, a country with a deep-rooted history in expert ceramic production. Keith works closely with a team of highly skilled craftsmen to perfect the delicate production process. So they ensure each mug, bowl or jug matches the same style and high quality of his original design. Keith is proud to manufacture his ceramic ranges responsibly in China. In light of this, he has made a fun video to let everyone know here. It is Keith’s dream to bring production home to the UK. Fingers crossed; this dream may not be too far away!
